A simply circuit, which illustrates how a relay works and how it can be used to make a low voltage and low power circuit control another high voltage and high power circuit, even though the two circuits are electrically isolated from each other! Very smart!
NB: This circuit was inspired by or taken from the Basic Electronics series by Simply Electronics at YouTube.
