Hi @hurz. I am not sure if this is related to conergency. If it is convergence issue, replace the 555 timer ic by timer source should not speed up the process as the following calculation is the same. I also observed if I removed the 555 timing capacitor, and set update time to super fast, my smartphone works fine. Circuit post for you. It seems under some conditions, EC has a lot of work to do for 555 timer ic.
