Top left circuit - Close SPST switch
Monostable - Press logic source to trigger mode
.....Open SPST, BEFORE trying next circuits .....

Top right circuit- Close SPST switch
Astable - Close SPST switch to start oscillating mode
.....Open SPST, BEFORE trying next circuits .....

Bottom left circuit - Close SPST switch
Monostable Timer- Press NO switch to trigger mode
It resets by values of the 
       capacitor and resistor attached to 555
.....Open SPST, BEFORE trying next circuits .....

Bottom right circuit - Close SPST switch
Bistable - Press left NO switch to "set" mode
                Press right NO switch to "reset" mode
.....Open SPST, BEFORE trying next circuits .....

Top left circuit needs a capacitor between the logic source and the trigger input. Bottom right circuit is an RS latch. That said very useful, thanks.
