A simple example illustrating how to power up an LED with respectively an AC and a DC power supply.
NB: These circuits were inspired by or taken from the Basic Electronics series by Simply Electronics at YouTube.
NB2: I have also expanded the AC circuit with a small capacitor bank now, which can be added  by turning the switch to the top right on, in order to maintain a more stable light on the LED in that circuit!
