Opamp current source for floating load

LAoE Figure 6L.18 The opamp adjusts the output voltage that the voltage of the non-inverting input is equals to 1V. For one volt drop over a 1K resistor, 1mA current should flow. So this configuration will produce 1mA current over the load (variable resistor). The drawback is that the load should float (neither side can be connected to ground)
